AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL HELPS MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION®

Autosport International raised £2,150 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the show’s nominated charity partner, by auctioning an original painting by radical artist Ian Cook at the show.

The picture celebrates nine championship-winning cars from the 2009 season, including the F1 Brawn GP001, BMW’s BTCC car, the victorious WTCC SEAT and Citroen’s World Rally Championship winner.

The painting, created with remote control cars, and Dunlop tyres, was signed by many of the drivers present at the show today, including current Formula One World Champion Jenson Button, former Grand Prix driver and current BBC commentator Martin Brundle and 2009 British Touring Car Champion Colin Turkington, to name just a few.

The auction was held on the Coy's stand and the final bid was made by Anthony Barney, who bought the picture for £2,150. The proceeds go to the charity, which raises funds to grant magical wishes to children and youngsters fighting life-threatening illnesses.
